Try your first checkpoint

  1. Create a project

  2. Save where you left off

In Checkpoint notes, write one decision and one unfinished step. Select Save checkpoint.

  3. Resume in a fresh chat

Select Copy to resume and paste into a new AI chat. Ask “What did I decide, and what comes next?” To share a file instead, choose Export Markdown….

Find the app and your checkpoints

The app installs in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\CheckpointDesktop\. You can also open it from Start by searching for Checkpoint Desktop.

By default, saved projects are in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CheckpointDesktop\Data\CheckpointProjects\. If you used Choose folder…, look in the CheckpointProjects folder inside the workspace you selected.

Verify your download

The Windows build passed automated checks for saving and resuming, clipboard copying, installation, upgrade and uninstall.

Open PowerShell in your download folder and run Get-FileHash .\Checkpoint-Setup.exe -Algorithm SHA256. Compare the result with this SHA-256 value or the checksum file.
